Wat Po, the Temple of the Reclining Buddha, is the oldest Theravada Buddhist temple in Bangkok. During the discussion, the head monk stated that Thai monks are not permitted to pose for the camera.
However, he felt that it is time for the message of Buddhism to be shared. In this context, he believed an exception to the rule could be made.
Each monk, however, must decide for himself whether to accept the invitation or not.
I was pleased that the turnout was substantial enough to represent Wat Po as a group.
